SOME DAYS MOVEMENT COMES EASY….

other days, movement is hard to get into; the daily toll that life takes on us can be quite hard. I find myself trying to figure out what I want to prioritize throughout my day and sometimes movement isn’t a part of that. Taking the time to add movement into a schedule filled with 9-5 sitting behind a computer can be a hard thing to fit in.

I have no room to talk….I’ve never worked a 9-5 in my life. Paisley on the other hand, currently does that while doing all of the BCS stuff on the side. Luckily, this is all I get to work on and invest my time into. Even with my more lax schedule, I still can find it hard to fit getting a workout in and actually wanting to make it a productive workout!

Here are a few ways I motivate myself to move:

  1. Coffee. On the days I truly have no want to go to the gym or move my body, I go and buy myself a coffee and not just any coffee, my favorite coffee…you know, the $8 one that is wayyyy too much money. This is an easy motivator to get my butt up and going!

  2. The after feeling…. everybody knows it. When you have had a great workout and you feel on top of the world. That is one of the best feelings in the world and sometimes sacrificing getting up a little earlier and pushing a little harder in that workout to get that feeling and feel on top of the rest of your day can be enough motivation in itself.

  3. Self care. How I feel. Body image. Taking care of yourself feels good. When I prioritize my health, my skincare routine, what I put into my body, I find that I have a more optimistic look on the day and can feel more positive to go on with my day.

A few of my favorite ways to move:

  1. I love weight lifting. I wouldn’t say that it is most people’s favorite activity to do but some and most days, I crave it. I love the way that weight lifting makes me feel like I can accomplish lifting a certain amount of weight and then the next time I’m not feeling so motivated to go, I can remember that I can possibly level up and add more weight on (especially with deadlifting) and gives me quite the energy to get to the gym!

  2. Walking. This is definitely my least favorite exercise. I feel like I get easily bored with it and I don’t feel too much impact from the workout unless I walked a long ways and feel it in my glutes. I normally will try to pick a podcast to listen to to occupy my time best or walk with a friend and chat!

  3. Yoga, obviously!! The way a heated class makes my body feel is just mussshhhhhh! I can melt & just sink after the class is over and it’s worth it to go just for that feeling.

I think it all comes down to really just loving on your body and #selfcare…..

so what is it YOU care about? What do you want to take care of and make a priority in your life….because I think you and your mental/physical/emotional health is the most important thing you can prioritize in life so find a second to step back, take in a breath of fresh air and find the motivation to just move.
